23 SEP FRI Morro Bay CA back to VEGAS final destination with Noelin

Once you hit Barstow Cali it's nothing but flat desert and heat (depending upon the time of year of course). Very boring ride. 

Thought this was a bone yard for oil rigs until I got closer to it.. it is one giant area of oil pumping stations.. must be a giant pool of oil in this area.... I wish I owned that land!

I just love long road trips. Taking this trip keeps me motivated just to live.  I don't know what my future holds as far as work ect., but I do know that I want to continue to ride and if I can ride with my son to some of these places then it's a bonus.  I've worn out the desert for a while.  I think I would really like to constraint my efforts on the South East, North East and East Coast.. Have you really given it much thought? How much history the East coast has to offer and some killer scenery?  I often think how can a ride get much better than this??? But I guess it can....
